Karori Gutbuster & Family Festival

The Rotary Club of Karori has histroically been very active in the promotion, organization and running of the Karoei Gutbuster and Family Festival.

 

Unfortunately in 2011 we lost our major corporate sponsor.  As result future events may not proceed or if it does it will be in a much reduced form.  Should a future event be planned, details will be posted here.

Run/Walk

The Gutbuster was Wellington city's largest annual mountain running event and participants run or walk 11.8 kms round the outside of the Karori Sanctuary. The challenging course included 400 metres of vertical climbing including Wrights Hill and the Wind Turbine but rewards participants with spectacular views.

First held in 2004, the Gutbuster was organised by the combined Rotary clubs of Wellington with the support of the Wellington Harrier and Athletic Club (under the Rotary Sanctuary Discovery Area Inc).
